Try to imagine the Tamiami Trail with only two lanes, many World War II barracks and an army post on the east side of the street where SRQ now has a presence – that is what Jack Scott saw when he moved from Ohio to Manatee County 56 years ago to start his gas station and full-service repair on the corner of the Trail and Scott Avenue. Bob, an ASE Master Automotive Technician, was a fixture at Scott’s Auto Repair for decades as their branding transitioned from Gulf, Mobil, BP, Marathon, and finally Scott’s Auto Repair. Bob was in charge of service and repairs, has ASE certifications in all of the techniques that keep cars running well. The gas pumps are gone, but the full-service repair continued, with ASE Automotive Excellence accreditation, which assured customers of qualified technicians and up-to-date computer diagnostics.

        With the sale of the Scott’s Auto Repair property on the North Trail in late December, Bob has relocated the business to 6691 33rd St. E. Sarasota. Bob looks forward to carrying on Scott’s Legacy that he helped to build and proud to be part of for 40 years. Master Technician Chris White is joining Bob at Dr. Bob at Scott’s Auto Repair which is a short drive from the previous location. They vet to live up to the old station’s credo: "Great service at a fair price!" and imbues his trained technicians with those words he and Chris live by.
